Thyroglobulin (Tg)
Thyroglobulin is a 660 kDa, a dimeric glycoprotein produced by the follicular cells of the thyroid and used entirely within the thyroid gland. The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located near the throat. A thyroglobulin test is mainly used as a tumor marker test to help guide thyroid cancer treatment.
