Streptavidin SA
CATALOGUE NUMBER
S00-SA-AG.
INTRODUCTION
Affinity streptomycin SA (Streptavidin) is a 52kDa protein derived from Streptomyces avidinii. The SA protein consists of four identical monomers, each monomer contains a biotin binding site.It has a very high binding affinity (Kd of about 10^-14 M) for biotin and its derivatives, and the complexes are also extremely stable over a wide range of temperature and pH.Therefore, SA can be used to achieve high sensitivity and high specificity of immunoassay.
