NT-proBNP

NT-proBNP (N-terminal Pro B Type Natriuretic Peptide) is a biomarker released when the heart experiences pressure overload. Its levels reflect myocardial function and the degree of heart damage, making it closely related to the severity of heart failure. NT-proBNP is one of the most widely used biomarkers in diagnosing heart failure.

Indicator of Heart Function

NT-proBNP is secreted by myocardial cells in response to increased pressure and volume, helping to assess the severity of heart failure.

Diagnostic Value

NT-proBNP is crucial in diagnosing, stratifying risk, evaluating prognosis, and monitoring treatment effectiveness in patients with both acute heart failure (AHF) and chronic heart failure (CHF).

Clinical Applications

1.Heart Failure Diagnosis:

NT-proBNP plays an essential role in diagnosing acute and chronic heart failure, helping to differentiate heart failure from other conditions with similar symptoms.

2.Prognostic and Therapeutic Monitoring:

NT-proBNP is used for risk assessment and monitoring the efficacy of treatments in heart failure patients.
